The Addison Tracker plugs directly into a web site and records essential information about visits to that site, including the user's browser and ISP, the length of the visit, what pages were viewed, and what search engine or search keywords were entered when finding the web site. With additional customization, the system can record other interactions on the site, such as site-wide searches, product views, and online orders.

Unlike most web traffic analysis tools which parse through server log files, the
Addison Tracker monitors site activity in real time, and stores this
behavioral data in a relational database. This solution allows unlimited possibilities
for cross-analyzing activity. For example, a business owner using this system on his
site could compare the average amount of time spent on his site by visitors who
searched Yahoo.com for the phrase "floral bouquets" verses visitors who
searched Excite.com for the same phrase. As another example, he could analyze
the browse-to-buy ratio of low-selling products by comparing the number of times
that product was viewed by visitors to the number of online purchases.
